Which documents should I request before quotation?

Request the current specification, representative COA, SDS, origin information, packing details and any application-specific declarations. For regulated uses, define the required test methods and reporting limits.

Can mesh size alone define an industrial mineral grade?

No. Mesh describes a sieve opening, not a complete particle-size distribution or material performance. Use the named test method together with D-values, residue or top-cut limits where relevant.

How do I compare two supplier quotations fairly?
